Prepare to Be Fast and Furious in Gameloft’s Asphalt Street Storm Racing
Gameloft’s Asphalt is undoubtedly one of the most popular series of racing games around. As a matter of fact, it’s been such a huge hit that it has resulted in more than a dozen titles across different gaming platforms. On iOS, there are the currently available games from the main series, namely, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, Asphalt 7: Heat, and Asphalt 8: Airborne. And then there are the spinoff games, the endless runner Asphalt Overdrive and the off-road racer Asphalt Xtreme. But did you know that there’s another Asphalt game for iOS coming around the corner, which was recently soft-launched on the App Store? It’s called Asphalt Street Storm Racing.
Rivaling the likes of NaturalMotion’s CSR Racing, Asphalt Street Storm Racing is basically a drag-racing game.
The game features a 1/4-mile dragstrip competition that dares you to carry out a series of shifts in order to go from the starting line to the finish line in the shortest possible time. What’s more, it boasts multiplayer races, including four-player real-time runs.
Asphalt Street Storm Racing also challenges you to drag-race in different weather conditions, from scorching hot to pouring rain to freezing cold, and in various landmark-laden locations, such as New York and Hong Kong, impressively rendered in 3-D.
Of course, the game wouldn’t be quite a worthy addition to the Asphalt series if it didn’t include a car collection to die for. Asphalt Street Storm Racing lets you unlock licensed muscle cars and hypercars from top manufacturers including BMW, Bugatti, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Ford, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, and more. Further, the game includes various customization options for pimping up your cars.
No word yet on when Asphalt Street Storm Racing is set to be officially released on iOS. But it’s currently in soft-launch mode on the App Store in the Philippines. Stay tuned to AppAdvice for updates on the game.
