Facebook is working on technology to automatically tag friends in videos
Artificial intelligence is making the move to videos. At the second day of Facebook’s F8 conference, the social networking giant previewed technology that would automatically tag your friends in videos.

Facebook has been making a big push into video.
According to TechCrunch, Facebook’s Joaquin Quinomero Candela – director of machine learning – said that the technology will allow a user to search for people in any videos that have been shared with them.
For example, you could be able to simply type in your friend’s name and see any moment of a video that they have appeared in.
The company is also working to automatically caption videos. And some of the some AI technology used in photos to detect objects could eventually be used in videos as well.
Facebook has been making a big move into the space as most notably its live video feature was rolled out to all iPhone users in the United States earlier this year.
Say hello to Messenger bots
During the first day of the conference, Facebook announce a new feature for the popular Messenger app – automated bots.
Bots are designed to give you a wide variety of information, including weather and traffic updates or even more personalized communication like a receipt or shipping notification.
In one example presented yesterday, users can view some of the top stories of the day by communication with a CNN bot.
