Hulu's Live Streaming TV Service Will Offer Content from CBS
Set to launch later this year, Hulu’s live streaming TV service will feature content from CBS. Hulu recently announced an agreement with the most popular network in the United States.
A big draw
Currently, of the three major streaming service available to consumers, only PlayStation Vue offers any content from CBS. And that’s only in a limited number of major cities in the United States.
Two other competitors – Sling TV and DirecTV Now – don’t feature content from the popular network.
“To build a successful live TV service, you have to have viewers’ favorite sports and shows — and CBS’ programming is absolutely vital to that mix,” said Mike Hopkins, CEO of Hulu. “With 21st Century Fox, Disney, Turner and now CBS on board, our new live service will offer one of the most valuable sports, news and entertainment lineups anywhere – from ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sports and TNT to ABC, CBS, FOX and The Disney Channel.”
Hulu will stream CBS, CBS Sports Network, and POP live and also offer on-demand programming as well.
Exact pricing and other plan information has yet to be announced, but Hulu’s service is looking to be another strong option for cord cutters.
