Instagram Adds New Stories Highlights and Stories Archive Feature
Instagram has just added two new features to its hugely popular network revolving around stories – Stories Highlights and Stories Archive.
With Stories Highlights users can group previously shared Stories into highlights and pin them to your profile.
First up, Stories Highlights are a new place on a profile page to showcase highlights from previous Stories. There’s no limit to the number of highlights you can add. They will appear above the photo grid as a horizontal scroll bar.
As you could probably guess by its name, Stories will no longer disappear after 24 hours. They will automatically be saved in the Stories Archive.
To view the archive, select the icon on your profile page. Just select a story in the archive to view it. The archives can only be seen by the user and the automatic archiving can also be turned off if needed.
Last week, a new report surfaced highlighting some of the new features that Instagram is currently testing. Some of those include a native resharing button, the ability to add GIFs, and a Close Friends list that would allow users to share content with a small group of other users.
Instagram is designed for the iPhone and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
