Instagram Stories Celebrates 250 Million Daily Users with a New Feature
To celebrate Instagram Stories passing 250 million daily users, the social network has just announced a new feature to the popular live video option.
The new feature will allow broadcasters to share replays of their live videos.
A new update, arriving today, will allow users to share a replay of a live video to Instagram Stories for up to 24 hours.
After a live video has ended, users can select the Share button on the bottom of the screen to add a replay for 24 hours. Selecting Discard will make the video immediately disappear from the service.
When a replay is available to view, there will be a play icon under the profile image in the Stories bar a the top of the app.
Select it to watch the video and view the comments from the live version. You’ll even be able to rewind or fast forward 15 seconds when needed. Select Send Message to send a message to the broadcaster. If there are multiple videos from a person, just choose the arrows to jump through each.
The Instagram Stories feature has definitely taken off since it originally landed in November 2016. It made the jump from 200 million to 250 million daily users in a little more than two months.
Instagram is designed for the iPhone and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
