Apple: Limited Number of iPhone X Units Reserved for Walk-In Customers

Apple’s planning on offering a limited number of iPhone X units for walk-in customers on the device’s official launch date. This news comes just four days before the company begins accepting pre-orders for the 10th anniversary iPhone.

On Tuesday, Apple explained customers could purchase an iPhone X beginning at 8 a.m. local time on Friday, Nov. 3.

Stores will have iPhone X available for walk-in customers, who are encouraged to arrive early.

Apple has yet to clarify whether “stores” means just Apple retail locations or whether it also includes retail partners such as Best Buy. We’ve reached out to Cupertino for comment.l

As a reminder, pre-orders for the 5.8-inch iPhone X begin this Friday, Oct. 27 at 12:01 a.m. PDT. The device will be available in silver and space gray varieties only with 64GB and 256GB of storage.

Customers in the following countries can pre-order an iPhone X this week:

  • Andorra, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Japan, Jersey, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UAE, the UK, the US and US Virgin Islands.

Featuring the first iPhone design change in three years, the iPhone X arrives just weeks after the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus launched with mostly tepid sales.
