WhatsApp Now Lets You Draw and Write on Photos and Videos
WhatsApp Messenger is taking a page out of Snapchat and the Stories feature of its fellow Facebook-owned app Instagram. Through its latest update, the hugely popular messaging app has gained a set of editing tools that allows users to draw and write on photos and videos before sharing them.
What's New in WhatsApp
Draw on photos and videos
More often than not, sharing photos and videos as they are to your family and friends is enough. But if and when you want to have a bit more fun, you can now enliven your photos and videos by drawing or writing on them before sending them. Just tap the new editing tools to draw or add text and emojis to a photo or video. You can adjust the brush size or change the font style by dragging left on the color selector. You can also choose between the pixelate and the color remover brushes when drawing.
“When you capture a new photo or video or share one that’s already on your phone, you’ll automatically see the new editing tools,” the WhatsApp team notes. “Whether you’re drawing a big red heart to show how much you miss someone or adding your favorite emoji — sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words. Try adding text too, and change the color and font style.”
Invite to group with link
Want to invite more people to your group chat? Now you can do so simply by sharing a link with them. Just go to the group info page and tap “Group Invite Link” to grab the shareable link.
These new features are available now in the latest version of WhatsApp Messenger, which is free to download from the App Store for iPhone.
