Quirky App Of The Day: Winter Freeze Trains Ninjas For Subzero Weather
Winter Freeze-Free (Free) by Universe Apps is all about ninja training. You are an overweight ninja training to survive in cold climates. Don’t worry. Your black training gear still looks fabulous on you. Although you now have packed on quite a few pounds, you haven’t gained enough weight to help you survive the extreme cold. Since this is hardcore ninja training we’re talking about here, there’s no way for you to be rescued. You simply live or you die.
I’m sure in real life, ninjas aren’t forced to train for an indeterminate amount of time. Eventually, the cruelty of being left out in the cold would come to an end. However, that’s not the case in this game. You train until you can’t melt all of the snowflakes, and your ninja’s warmth dips below zero. When that happens, you turn into a block of ice. I would like to think that the ninja trainers will use your ice encasement as an ice sculpture at the ball they throw for all of the survivors. It would add a little meaning to your untimely death.
Snowflakes have taken on a deadly nature in this game. As they come towards you, you need to tap on them to melt them. They’re not pretty. They’re as sinister as ninja stars. Apparently, a single snowflake can lower your body temperature by three points. I’m going to remember this the next time I have to take the garbage out in the snow.
Each snowflake that you melt earns you icicles that you can use to purchase items in the store. Sure, you’re not allowed to sleep in a house like a decent human being, but there’s a store out there for your ninja convenience. You can buy heaters, a jacket, and even porridge. You can also upgrade each of these items to make them more effective.
Your score is measured by how many nights you can last without turning into a human popsicle. Although I would fail miserably the moment that they dropped me off, I have faith in my little well-padded ninja.
