Baby monitoring apps

Cloud Baby Monitor is an amazing app that is everything a baby monitor should be. This monitor broadcasts both video and audio, allows you to speak to your baby, play a lullaby from afar, and has an unlimited broadcasting range. You can watch baby when at home or when you are away, granted that you've already accepted your parent unit's request on the baby unit device. The interface is nice, not cheesy looking like some of the other apps in this category. Best of all, the developer is constantly improving this app, making it the best baby monitor app out there hands down.

Baby Monitor 3G is like the basic version of Cloud Baby Monitor. It offers both video and audio, a way that the parent can talk to the baby, and a night light setting for nighttime. This app is a great app, just not as feature rich as our essential app pick.

Baby Monitor HD is a decent baby monitoring app. It lets you watch 4 different live streams simultaneously and offers pretty much the same features as Baby Monitor 3G give or take with a few design flaws. The interface seems to be a little too cramped together, is not quite impressive, and proves difficult to maneuver as a new parent.

This app will monitor the audio levels of your child and react how you want it to. You can have the app call a predetermined phone number, play a prerecorded calming message from Mom, play a peaceful song, and all of that is fully customizable. Best of all this app keeps an activity log, which allows you to see exactly when your baby was stirring throughout the night.

Baby Monitor is a nice offering. You get a notification rather than a live video stream. This app will monitor the audio levels and if reaches a certain level your iPhone will call a designated phone number or send an SMS to you. You can even enable it to FaceTime you when your child wakes up. The functionality works as advertised.

BabyPhone Deluxe is not a very deluxe app. The developers have kept this one simple. This app will monitor the crib’s audio levels and call you if it exceeds a certain volume. Everything works as advertised and should bring comfort to a parent in the other room or out and about. An activity log is also included in this app. We would love to see more features added to this app to make it an even better buy.
