AT&T is reportedly planning to launch the next-generation iPhone during the third or fourth week in September, according to BGR.
Sources from the carrier told the site that there will be an all hands on deck policy that will last through the middle of October. And another source said that a large training event scheduled for company employees during the first week of October has been rescheduled because of a “huge announcement.”
As of now, all signs point to Apple formally introducing the handset during an event on Wednesday, Sept. 12 in San Francisco. If previous rollouts are any indication, the new iPhone could be on sale in the United States as early as 10 days from the introduction, which would be Friday, Sept. 21.
Most recently, “leaked” photos showed off the new dock connector expected to be a major part of the revamped iPhone. The model is also expected to have a taller, 4-inch screen with a 640x1136 resolution. The new iPhone is also expected to be significantly thinner and have a two-tone rear panel.
At the same event, we may also see an updated iPod touch with the same larger screen as the new iPhone and possibly even the fabled iPad mini.
