This Week In Accessories: Time To Hit The Great Outdoors

I don’t know about you, but I am ready for Old Man Winter to pack his bags and leave town for a while. Even though I live in Texas, where winter usually consists of a cold rain, I can’t wait for spring to make an appearance. And if you’re a fan of the outdoors, we’ve got some great new iOS device accessories you’ll want to take a look at this week.
BRV-1 from BRAVEN
Braven has a perfect companion for all of the new waterproof cases popping up for the iPhone 5. The BRV-1 speaker is an IPX5-certified water resistant and shock absorbent speaker. With up to 12 hours of playtime, the Bluetooth-compatible device features a 6W speaker and a noise-cancelling microphone to make calls from anywhere. The speaker also features a built-in powerbank that will also charge an iPhone or other device.
I previously reviewed BRAVEN’s similar 625S speaker, and can attest that the company does a great job designing rugged speakers that also sound great.
Available in two colors, the BRV-1 retails for $169.99 and can be purchased directly through the company’s site.
SuckR from Hitcase
The SuckR from Hitcase takes the usual iPhone car mount to the next level. With the ability to attach to any smooth, flat, non-porous surface like windshields, the mount pairs with the company’s line of waterproof and shockproof iPhone cases to create a rugged POV camera. Featuring two ball joints and a single tightening clamp in the socket arm, the mount can easily be loosened to quickly find that perfect shooting angle.
Retailing for $49.99, the SuckR can be ordered on Hitcase’s site now.
PowerFlask from Digital Treasures
The PowerFlask from Digital Treasures is a portable charging solution with a fun twist. If the name didn’t give you a hint, the PowerFlask is a power bank shaped like a flask that can charge up to three USB devices simultaneously. With a 13,000 mAH battery, the solution is easily portable, and even has two LED lights to help brighten your way while traveling.
Available for $89.95, the PowerFlask include two 30-pin iPad/iPhone connectors, a USB-to-Micro-USB charging cable, a USB-to-Dual-Micro-USB charging cable and a USB power adapter. Bottoms up.
