Antennagate Lawsuit Now Paying Out: iPhone 4 Owners Receive Settlement Checks

The drama that was the iPhone 4 "antennagate" scandal is now finally drawing to an ultimate close, as $15 settlement checks for the iPhone 4 class action lawsuit have started reaching customers in the United States.
Antennagate kicked off following the iPhone 4's release, once customers realized that by "death gripping" their smartphone in a certain way, the handset's signal rapidly deteriorated. After a media frenzy, a number of excuses, and the launch of Apple's free case program, a class action lawsuit eventually found that the Cupertino, Calif. company was:
misrepresenting and concealing material information in the marketing, advertising, sale, and servicing of its iPhone 4 - particularly as it relates to the quality of the mobile phone antenna and reception and related software.Following this, iPhone 4 customers had the option of applying for a $15 settlement if they had not claimed a free bumper, via the above suit. Finally, almost three years since the fourth-generation iPhone was first announced, these cash settlements are reaching iPhone 4 customers, meaning that antennagate really is drawing to a close.
