You No Longer Need An Invite To Start Ogling Beautiful Photos In Hipstamatic Oggl
May 25, 2013
Hipstamatic Oggl has just captured its first ever update.
Released just a couple of weeks ago, Hipstamatic Oggl comes from the makers of, well, Hipstamatic. The app lets you capture images using Hipstamatic's lenses and films and curate the best photos from its integrated community of iPhoneographers.
As it happens, the app's first update seeks to expand that community by making Hipstamatic Oggl open to everyone who wishes to create and "ogle" beautiful photos with it.
You see, until the arrival of this update, Hipstamatic Oggl had been an invite-only app. But now, the app has apparently been scaled to such an extent that invite codes are no longer needed in order for new users to get started with the app.
The update also adds support for a couple of new gestures when taking a photo. Now you can tap and hold to focus on a specific spot in your shot. You can now also drag across your shot to set its exposure.
The update also includes the ability to double-tap on a photo in the feed to "love" it, as you would in Hipstamatic Oggl's rival app, Instagram.
In addition, it lets you add an artist bio or statement to your profile. Improvements concerning performance and battery usage are offered by the update as well.
Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later, the new version of Hipstamatic Oggl is available now in the App Store for free.
