Donna Now Helps You Get To Your Appointments On Time Via Public Transit
August 16, 2013
From Carrot, the delightfully sardonic gal behind the newly updated Carrot To-Do and the newly released Carrot Alarm, we now proceed to another female AI that powers a productivity app. I'm talking about Donna, the benevolent presence behind the app of the same name that's designed to help you manage your day.
As noted by Christine in her review of the app here on AppAdvice, Donna is "like having your own assistant, except you know, digitally. Sure, Siri can be helpful sometimes, but you have to initiate her first. With Donna, she takes care of things for you."
As it happens, Donna has just received a major update.
First and foremost, the update adds support for public transit times and directions. Since its launch late last June, Donna has been offering to get you to appointments on time as you travel to them by car, bike, or foot. Now, Donna can also get to your appointments on time by public transit, nudging you when it's time to catch that all-important bus or subway ride.
Donna (that is to say, its developer, Incredible Labs) also has this to say about what else is in the app's new update:
I'm always on the lookout for ways to make it easier to scan your day so I've added a few things to help you get a sense of what's going on. For example, I now show you appointments that are listed as "all day." If you have a birthday, anniversary, or other appointment that isn't at a specific time, you'll see those in your calendar. I've also changed the way I show the date of the appointments a little to make it clearer for you to quickly scan what's ahead. And if your day looks free… I'll show you that as well. Also featuring better and higher-resolution maps, the new version of Donna is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later.
