Apple's Black Friday Deals Go Live: Gift Cards Only, Not A Product Discount In Sight

November 28, 2013
Over in the Australian Apple Online Store, Apple's Black Friday deals are available to access. But if you were hoping to pick up a product at a discounted price from Apple, you're out of luck; as predicted, Apple Store Gift Cards are all the Cupertino, Calif. company appears to be offering this Black Friday. Indeed, we explained earlier today that Apple could have been planning a change to its usual Black Friday proceedings. This now appears to be the case. In Australia's Apple Online Store, where it's Black Friday already, the deal attached to Apple's Black Friday banner is for Apple Store Gift Cards, which users can pick up when purchasing a Mac, iDevice, or qualifying accessory. How much is Apple offering? Well, the figures are of course in Australian dollars, but a conversion provides an indication of what U.S. shoppers can expect. For a Mac, Apple is offering a AUS$150 ($137) Apple Store Gift Card, and for an iPad a AUS$75 ($68) Gift Card is made available. Apple explains:
Today only, get an Apple Store Gift Card when you buy any of the great gifts below.* Shop online and get fast, free shipping. Or visit your favourite Apple Retail Store.
Pleased or disappointed? Remember, a number of further U.S. retailers, including Target, Best Buy, and Walmart, are offering iDevice discounts.
