Apple's Game of the Year for iPad, The Room, is set to see a sequel application launch in the App Store. Called The Room 2, the forthcoming game will be available to download for the iPad from Dec. 12, according to the app's developer, and an iPhone iteration will launch at some point in 2014.
The news comes in an article from PocketGamer, which explains:
According to developer Fireproof Games, the sequel to brilliant box-opening simulator The Room - recipient of a PG Gold Award and selected as Apple's iPad Game of 2012 - will go live on the App Store on December 12th.As a reminder, The Room was featured as one of AppAdvice's Best Paid Apps Of 2012, and the mysterious game, which first launched in the App Store back in September 2012, had been downloaded more than 1 million times just four months after its initial release. The Room has also received a number of impressive updates, too, with one of the most appreciated adding an "Epilogue" mode of gameplay to the application. However, a standalone sequel is what most iDevice gamers have been hoping for, and it's great to see that Fireproof Games is publishing a second game in time for Christmas. The application is scheduled to launch just before iTunes Connect shuts down for the holidays, on Dec. 21 (until Dec. 27). Dare you unlock the door to The Room a second time? We'll let you know once the application is available to download.
