IFTTT Update Ushers In A New Location Channel

The iOS app from the popular automation service IFTTT has just recently been updated. And the biggest addition in version 1.3.0 is the new location channel and applicable recipes and triggers.
If the name didn’t give it away, the feature allows users to create recipes and triggers that work in tandem with the location of their iPhone. An example of a location recipe would be to automatically direct message a specific Twitter account when a user nears their home.
A location-based trigger example would be to email a user all Instagram photos taken around their alma mater.
The update also makes it easier to manage a large number of recipes. Users can now search their own recipes for quick management and select favorite recipes to easily pull them up later.
And along with the ability to search for channels by name, recipes can be shared for the IFTTT community to discover and use.
Designed for the iPhone/iPod touch, IFTTT can be downloaded now in the App Store for free.
Before the most recent update, version 1.2.0 arrived a little more than a month ago. That brought the ability to add photos directly into a Photo Album and create new to-dos in Reminders.
