Just like Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Friends is keeping on top with the season with its latest update. Last August, the competitive version of Rovio's hugely popular Angry Birds physics-based puzzle game was updated with support for tournaments with special themes, new graphics, and more interactive levels. One of those tournaments came in October in the form of Angry Birds Friends' Halloween tournament, which saw the rise of the Zombie Pigs. It also saw the introduction of custom slingshots for boosting both flinging power and score. This month, Angry Birds Friends is holding a Holiday tournament, which starts on Dec. 9 and runs through Dec. 29. During the tournament period, you can play six new holiday-themed levels each week. The latest update to Angry Birds Friends also introduces a new slingshot called the Jingle Sling, which may be earned or purchased. You can use this festive slingshot to shoot ornaments and inflict extra damage on the bad piggies. It also brings about some snow for good measure. The new version of Angry Birds Friends is available now in the App Store for free. The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. Angry Birds Seasons itself was updated for the holidays just a couple of days ago with a new icy Arctic theme and other "cool" gameplay enhancements.
