Listen Up, Scurvy Dogs: Assassin's Creed Pirates Just Got Its First Major Update
Ubisoft’s popular Assassin’s Creed Pirates, which first launched in the App Store back on Dec. 5, has just received its first major update. Now, iDevice gamers can enjoy exploring a new area and meeting new characters, while enhanced gameplay and Facebook integration has also reached the $4.99 swashbuckling app.
More specifically, Ubisoft has added a mythical region called “Nassau” to the application, and here pirates can enjoy 10 brand new secondary missions and 12 new treasures.
There’s also an all-new campaign mission featuring “the brutal pirate” Charles Vane, and three additional ships are available for iDevice gamers to unlock and sail: The Brisk Fortune, The Jack Snipe, and The Citadel.
The updated Assassin’s Creed Pirates also allows users to engage in new defense gameplay, too: “use new strategies, like destroying cannonballs in the air, to turn the situation around by counterattacking your enemies,” Ubisoft explains in the app’s release notes.
Finally, gamers can access Facebook-powered social features using the in-game map.
Here’s a complete list of new features, as outlined in Assassin’s Creed Pirates’ release notes:
Continue exploring the Caribbbean to discover the mythical Nassau, a new playground, featuring 10 new secondary missions and 12 new treasures!
Meet the brutal pirate, Charles Vane, in a new campaign mission, and unlock 3 new ships to sail: The Brisk Fortune, The Jack Snipe and The Citadel.
Put your defense skills to the test in new defense gameplay: use new strategies, like destroying cannonballs in the air, to turn the situation around by counterattacking your enemies!
Keep in touch with your pirate friends, and check your Facebook contacts on the map.
