Evernote For iOS Updated With Improvements To Presentation Mode And Card Scanning

March 21, 2014
Evernote has just updated its official iOS app with a number of welcome improvements. In the main, the latest update to Evernote for iOS improves the two Premium features introduced to the app through its major update last December. First, there's presentation mode, which allows for presenting notes on a larger screen via AirPlay or a cable. And now, the new Evernote update lets you view and play audio, video, and office documents in presentation mode. It also lets you open Web links from notes without having to exit presentation mode. Second, there's business card scanning, which enables you to use the Evernote app’s camera to scan business cards and automatically digitize them into editable content notes. And with the new update, you can now save an individual business card to your contacts and quickly send a request to connect on LinkedIn after scanning someone's card. The update also offers improved handling of names and phone numbers. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. The new version of Evernote also includes the following improvements:
  • Improved performance
  • Added word wrap when adding text annotation to images and PDFs
  • Create and find notebooks more easily in the Notebooks screen
  • Select multiple photos to add to a note in our updated image chooser
  • Various bug fixes
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Evernote is available in the App Store for free. Evernote Premium is offered via an in-app purchase for $4.99 per month or $44.99 per year.
