Slow Feeds Goes Free, Gets Redesigned For iOS 7 And Updated With New Features
March 22, 2014
Slow Feeds, the iOS feed reader app that highlights low-volume or "slow" feeds, has just been updated to version 4.0.
First off, Slow Feeds 4.0 boasts a refreshed design for iOS 7. On top of its new look and feel, the newly updated app includes several new features.
There's background fetch, which periodically syncs feeds in the background, provided Background App Refresh is enabled for Slow Feeds.
There's also x-callback-url support, which allows for easy subscribing to feeds from outside Slow Feeds using a URL scheme action.
And there's the new zen version, which removes everything in Slow Feeds but, well, the slow feeds, thereby helping you focus only on posts from low-volume subscriptions.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Slow Feeds 4.0 is available now in the App Store for free.
Previously priced at $2.99, Slow Feeds has just gone freemium. The free app initially comes with a limited feature set, but it offers a one-time $2.99 in-app purchase for unlocking the app's full version.
The full version includes support for high-volume feeds, hot links, image gallery, starred items, and two new features: feed management (subscribing to new feeds and removing subscriptions) and manual categorization (overriding the app's automatic categorization by post volume).
Note that existing users of Slow Feeds, i.e, those who purchased the app, are automatically upgraded to the full version.
