Yelp For iOS Gets Updated Profile Pages, Swipe-To-Go-Back And More
Yelp, the crowd-sourced review service that can help you find the perfect pub, restaurant, or cafe, has updated its free iOS application making a number of useful changes.
You can pick up the updated Yelp app (7.7.0) on the App Store free of charge, and as before it’s optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. As of the application’s latest release, users can enjoy new, updated profile pages in Yelp for iOS, and iOS 7’s more intuitive “swipe-to-go-back” navigation feature is supported, too.
It’s also possible to add additional details when reviewing businesses in Yelp 7.7.0, and creating a Yelp account from inside the application is now easier than ever. Yelp explains: “If you don’t have one yet, tap on About Me, then Sign Up, and get one in seconds.”
Here’s a complete list of features, as outlined in the app’s release notes:
- Creating a Yelp account just got a whole lot easier. If you don’t have one yet, tap on About Me, then Sign Up, and get one in seconds.
- A new hot look for our user profile pages!
- That “Back” button too far from your thumb? No problem, we now support swipe-to-go-back on iPhone iOS7. Give it a try!
- We bet you know a ton about the businesses you review. Now you can provide additional details about the business after you finish writing a mobile review.
As a reminder, Yelp got an update back in December adding Fandango integration for in-app movie ticket purchasing, and before this in November, the service added support for SeatMe – a restaurant reservation system. If you’re new to a town, visiting an unfamiliar area, or just want to learn more about where you live, Yelp is a useful app that can help iOS device users seek out the best places to eat, drink, and relax.
You can download the updated Yelp application on the App Store free of charge, and it’s optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
