Apple to open third retail store in the Netherlands, located in The Hague, on Aug. 9

August 5, 2014
Apple has just announced that it's set to hold the grand opening of its third retail store in the Netherlands this weekend. As noted by ifo Apple Store (via MacRumors), Apple's new Dutch store is scheduled to be officially opened on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. local time. It's located at the Passage mall in the Hague, the world-famous seat of government in the Netherlands. As mentioned, it's Apple's third retail store in the country, joining Apple's shops in Amsterdam and Haarlem. It's the latest Apple store to open in Europe, following the launch in recent weeks of several other European Apple stores in Madrid, Spain, and in Basel, Switzerland. New ones are also expected to open soon in Edinburgh, Scotland, and in Istanbul, Turkey. According to the Dutch Apple-focused blog One More Thing, Apple's new store in The Hague features a 360-degree Genius Bar and Apple's trademark glass exterior and other retail store characteristics. Last month, Apple was granted by the European Court of Justice the capacity to register the layouts of its retail stores as trademarks in Europe's member states. The opening of Apple's new store in the Netherlands closely follows the opening of Apple's two new stores in China, one in Chongqing and another in Wuxi. These recently inaugurated locations and a number of others set to be opened by Apple are part of the company's sustained retail expansion under the supervision of Angela Ahrendts, Apple's new SVP of Retail and Online Stores.
