Posted on the ustwo Twitter account this weekend, the screenshot doesn’t show a lot, but should make fans of the game excited.
The upcoming levels will be available as “lost scenes” and won’t disrupt the wonderful narrative story of the game. The additional levels are expected sometime this year, but it is unknown whether they will be a free update or require an in-app purchase.
A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Monument Valley can be downloaded now for $3.99.
Originally arriving back in April, the game was named as an Apple Design winner back at WWDC in June. It was also named as our AppAdvice Game of the Week shortly after its release.
Christine Chan, in her original review, enjoyed pretty much everything about the title:
Monument Valley may just be another puzzle game that wants you to get from Point A to Point B, but it’s the process of getting there that makes it special. With this regard, it’s definitely one of the most distinctive little games I’ve played lately, and it’s absolutely exquisite — a must-have for anyone.
The game has been downloaded more than 1 million times, which is a very nice milestone for a paid app.
We’ll definitely let you know if we hear anything more about the new levels. Monument Valley is easily one of my favorite games that I’ve played this year, and it is worth every penny.
