I’ve been exclusively using Newsify since I had my iPhone 6, especially because it lends itself well to one-handed use with its variety of gesture-based actions. And with its latest update, it has further cemented its status as my feed reading app of choice.
The newly updated Newsify introduces a new gesture for toggling night mode. Rather than going to the app’s settings and toggling the switch for night mode, you can now simply double-tap the app’s top bar to switch between the app’s light theme and night mode.
Alternatively, you can now also set Newsify to automatically toggle night mode, provided you have iOS’ auto-brightness feature enabled on your device.
The latest update to Newsify also brings a new advanced setting to disable split view mode on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, for which the app was optimized last month. (Reeder, Newsify’s chief competitor, is yet to be updated for the new iPhones.)
Also last month, Newsify was updated with support for iOS 8’s native share menu aka Share Sheet.
And now, the app has been updated with the addition of Share Sheet to the Tap-and-Hold/Swipe Left Action options in the advanced settings. As well, it has been updated to allow disabling of Newsify-added sharing services and actions in Share Sheet.
The new version of Newsify also includes additional bug fixes and improvements.
