Pocket gains share extension tweaks, Dynamic Type support and 1Password integration

November 20, 2014

Pocket has received yet another notable update that further improves the already impressive read-later app.

A couple of months ago, coinciding with the release of the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system, Pocket was updated with optimizations for iOS 8, including a systemwide share extension (demoed below) and Handoff support.

Then, last month, it was updated with native resolution support for the larger screens of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

Now, the app has been updated with follow-up improvements for iOS 8. These include speed enhancements to the Pocket share extension, allowing for “lightning-fast saving on any type of connection, even offline.”

There's also support for the iOS 8 extension of the popular password storage app 1Password, enabling easy site login management in Pocket.

The latest update to Pocket also adds support for Dynamic Type, the systemwide text size preference introduced in iOS 7.

Of course, it also includes bug fixes and miscellaneous improvements.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Pocket is available on the App Store for free.

Pocket’s core read-later service is free. But advanced features, including permanent saving of bookmarked content, search refinements, and personalized tag suggestions, are also available through a Pocket Premium subscription, which is accessible via in-app purchase for $4.99 per month or $44.99 per year.
