Line updated with new message searching feature and iPhone 6 support
Just a week after being updated with support for a new mobile payment service along with other improvements, Line has received a small yet nonetheless significant update.
The latest update to the popular messaging app notably introduces a new message searching feature in addition to chat list searching. As a result, you can now search for a particular message within chats.
To do so, scroll to the top of the chat list and enter your sought-after keywords in the search bar. The app then shows which chat lists match your search. Select a chat list to bring up its contents with your keywords highlighted in the matching messages to enable you to quickly find exactly what you’re looking for.
Aside from message searching, the new Line update also optimizes the app with full resolution support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
As mentioned, this update follows a recent update that adds support for a new mobile payment service. The service, called Line Pay, allows users to link their credit cards to the Line app to pay for stickers and themes in the Line Store. It’s set to be expanded to also support online and in-app purchases, brick-and-mortar store payments, and peer-to-peer money transfer.
In addition to Line Pay support, the previous update to Line brought support for typing statuses in one-on-one chatrooms, and voice and video call quality improvements.
Released in mid-October, Line for iPad is also available on the App Store for free.
