Zombie, it's cold outside: PopCap's Plants vs. Zombies 2 receives 'Feastivus' update
In time for the holiday season, PopCap has released the “Feastivus” update to Plants vs. Zombies 2.
Most notably, the update offers 18 days of frosty new Piñata Party events, starting on Friday, Dec. 19. It also adds the following new holiday-themed content to the sequel to the original Plants vs. Zombies lane defense game:
- Sticky, special-edition plant Sap-fling
- Snow Pea’s collectable winter hats
- Snowball fights – double snowballs when you win a power up
- The ugliest ugly sweaters you’ll see all season
- Special holiday prizes from Señor Piñata
This update follows Plants vs. Zombies 2’s major update last month, which added part 2 of Big Wave Beach, including 16 new beach-themed levels along with new plants, new zombies, and the arrival of Dr. Zomboss in his Zombot Sharktronic Sub.

The new festive version of Plants vs. Zombies comes just a couple of days after PopCap (through its parent company, Electronic Arts) officially launched Peggle Blast, the latest installment in the popular Peggle series of physics-based pachinko-style puzzle games. In our review here on AppAdvice, the free-to-play Peggle Blast is praised for its “pretty visuals” but blasted for its “P2W difficulty levels and power-ups, lives, and Facebook spamming.”
