RunKeeper makes tracking your runs and workouts easier with its new Today widget

Staying Fit by Keeping Connected
January 27, 2015

The popular GPS fitness-tracking app RunKeeper has just been updated with a new and noteworthy feature.

Apparently, the feature in question has been one of the most requested additions to RunKeeper since the launch of iOS 8 in September last year.

I’m referring to RunKeeper’s very own Today widget.

To help you get fit throughout the new year and beyond, RunKeeper now provides a Today widget that lets you easily control and track your runs and workouts right from the just-a-swipe-away Notification Center in iOS 8.

Right from the Today widget, you can start, pause, resume, or stop your runs, with voice feedback as in the RunKeeper app itself.

RunKeeper’s Today widget also offers a quickly accessible view of your upcoming workouts and various stats.

Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later, RunKeeper is available on the App Store for free, with in-app purchases offered for unlocking premium features as part of an Elite subscription, priced at $9.99 per month or $39.99 per year.

RunKeeper was notably updated early in November with support for indoor tracking via stopwatch mode and later in the month with improvements to the same and integration with Apple’s Health app in iOS 8.

RunKeeper is developed by FitnessKeeper, which is also behind the activity-tracking app Breeze.
