Facebook introduces a new 'On This Day' feature for its iOS app and site
Every day can be Throwback Thursday with a new feature rolling out to Facebook’s iOS app and site.
The aptly named On This Day feature shows content from the current date in the past. Some of the content you might see include status updates, photos, posts from friends, and other things you’ve shared or been tagged in.
You will be the only person to see the content unless you decide to share it with friends.
To see the On This Day page, you can search for “on this day” in the app. Stories can also appear on your News Feed.
On the feature’s page, users can select to subscribe to notifications when memories are available to look back on. Old posts can also be edited or deleted on the page.
The Facebook app is universal and designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now for free. You don’t need to update the app to take advantage of the new feature.
And if you’re interested in a similar service, download Timehop for free on the App Store now. Along with Facebook, that service uses information from your iOS device, Instagram, Twitter, and Foursquare.
