Apple has gotten twisty with its latest choice for App of the Week. For the next seven days, the unique puzzle game Twisty Hollow can be downloaded for free. It’s usually $2.99.
From developer Arkadium, Twisty Hollow combines the fun of a match-three and time management games into one fun package. Gamers are tasked with fulfilling the increasingly eccentric needs of the town’s citizens by making different combinations on the three spinning wheels laid on top of each other.
While it starts out easy, the difficulty level ramps up as the game offers 50 fun different stages spread out among different parts of the town.
Twisty Hollow is universal for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. There are no in-app purchases.
Originally arriving in late October 2014, our own Christine Chan highlighted the game’s visuals and unique gameplay in her review:
I am in love with the paper craft art style, the endearing music, unconventional characters, and the distinctive gameplay mechanic. It’s a fantastic combination of matching puzzle and time management that is sure to keep you busy for hours on end.
I highly recommend checking out Twisty Hollow if you are in the mood for a puzzle game that is unlike any you’ve played before.
Shortly after its release, Twisty Hollow also received our Honorable Mention award in the AppAdvice App of the Week contest.
I totally agree with our original review, and have really enjoyed playing the game. If you want to break out of a puzzle game rut, download Twisty Hollow now. It’s hard to beat free.
