Get Monument Valley now for free on the App Store
Haven’t experienced the mobile gaming greatness of Monument Valley? If so, how have you managed to survive without playing this genuinely excellent game? Well, in any case, now’s your chance to get the acclaimed Escher-esque puzzle game, created by Whale Trail developer Ustwo, for free — and you don’t even need a special redemption code or a promo card from Starbucks.
All you have to do is head to the App Store and tap the Get button for Monument Valley to download the game free of charge.
A great game at a great price
That’s right: Monument Valley is currently available for free on the App Store, instead of its regular price of $3.99. While it has undergone a handful of price drops before, this is the first time that the game has been made free to download.
It’s yet unknown for how long its being free will go. Probably, it’s going to be promoted as Apple’s Free App of the Week. Anyway, go grab it now gratis while you can. Just click here to be taken directly to the App Store page of Monument Valley.

A great game with great content
Released in April last year and topping 1 million downloads in just three months, Monument Valley went on to garner an AppAdvice Game of the Week distinction and an Apple Design Award. In our original review, it was hailed as “a stunningly beautiful puzzle game where architecture knows no bounds and defies all laws of physics and logic.”
Note that while it’s free to download, Monument Valley still requires a $1.99 in-app purchase to unlock its eight-level “Forgotten Shores” expansion. The game also includes its original 10-level narrative and the standalone chapter called “Ida’s Dream,” which was originally locked behind an in-app purchase for the benefit of the (RED) anti-AIDS charity but was later made available at no charge.
Monument Valley is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
It was most recently updated last month with support for iPad Pro.
