Apple could introduce a new color – “Space Black” – to its iPhone line later this year, beginning with the iPhone 7 series. Now, a new mockup has shown how the anticipated device might look.

There's been a lot of chatter online about a possible “Space Black” iPhone 7, ranging from leaked images to misunderstandings concerning blue-colored handsets. One new mockup has tried hard to show prospective customers what a Space Black iPhone 7 Plus might look like. Taking influence from the design of the Space Black Apple Watch, the mockup shows a darker iPhone handset featuring black antenna bands, darker engravings, and dark Smart Connector spots. And if you ask me, the imagined handset looks pretty nice indeed.

The concept hit the Web from TechTastic (via MacRumors). And as you can see, there are a number of other notable features alongside the Space Black coloring. For one, the dual-lens “camera bump” on the rear of the iPhone 7 Plus appears less pronounced than it has done in other mockups. As mentioned above, there's also a Smart Connector on the rear of the handset; though this likely won't be used for a mini-Smart Keyboard designed for the iPhone, it could work alongside a next-generation iPhone 7 dock.

Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhones, an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, at a special media event in September. Could there even be an iPhone 7 Pro? We'll need to wait a little longer before we know for sure.
