The major addition in the update is tilt support for the Apple Pencil that can add a new layer to drawings. Here’s what users can now accomplish with each tool when tilting the pencil:
- Technical Pencil – A smooth, faded stroke along the edge of hard lead
- Art Pencil – Soft, wide shading that varies with both size settings & pressure
- Pen – Flat nib great for hard edges or calligraphic writing
- Marker – Wide flat stroke perfect for coloring large areas of the screen
- Eraser – Flat oval instead of a round tip for erasing
Users can now also move sketches from one project folder to another. You’ll need to long press a drawing on the Project view and the select move.
A new sketch can now also be created within a canvas without needing to leave the current drawing. Select More Actions and then New Sketch. The blank canvas is preset with current grid and background settings.
Finally, with the new Presentation Mode, you can show off drawings on the Apple TV via AirPlay or a Lightning-to-HDMI adapter. The mode is available to select in the More Actions menu.
