The Award-Winning BADLAND Goes Spooky, Gets New Levels In Time For Halloween

October 25, 2013
BADLAND, winner of a 2013 Apple Design Award, has just received a great update in time for Halloween. Now, iDevice users can enjoy a brand new spooky theme in the popular puzzler, along with additional levels and multiplayer characters. As before, BADLAND is available in the App Store for $0.99, and is optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Now, however, the application has indeed been updated for All Hallows' Eve. Besides offering a brand new Halloween theme, then, one additional multiplayer level has appeared in BADLAND 1.6, along with four new multiplayer characters and the option of joining in a limited-time in-game Halloween competition. Developer Frogmind outlines the changes in the app's release notes:
  • Halloween theme
  • New multiplayer level
  • 4 new multiplayer characters
  • Join the Halloween competition
One aspect of BADLAND that we love most is its developer's dedication to providing continual updates for the already-impressive game. These have added additional "Dusk" levels in September, new multiplayer content in August, and all-new "Noon" levels in June. Along the way, bug fixes and performance improvements have ensured that BADLAND runs well on Apple's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. However, the game was impressive from the beginning. As such, it's no surprise BADLAND won our "AppAdvice Game Of The Week" accolade back when it first reached the App Store. As we explained:
The first thing that you will notice with this amazing game are the graphics. Seriously, this title is stunning. There’s a surreal ambiance to the game’s visuals and environments, and it’s just completely unique. You haven’t encountered many games that have a design quite like this one. You have lush forests in the background, but the foreground, where all of the action takes place, will remain shrouded in mysterious darkness.
From here, the game only gets better. For $0.99, BADLAND is well worth the download. As mentioned, it's optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
