Angry Birds Epic Is A Turn-Based RPG

March 12, 2014
Remember that “epic” new Angry Birds game that Rovio teased last week? Well Kotaku has all the details, and it is pretty surprising. Angry Birds Epic is an adventure role-playing game with turn-based combat and an “extensive” crafting system. That’s right, the Angry Birds are flying into the world of RPGs. Gamers will need to heavily lean on the crafting system as it will be used to make armor, potions, and weapons. The items can be made using points earned in the game or (surprise, surprise) through an in-app purchase. That’s definitely an interesting turn for the franchise. But pitting the birds against those bad piggies always seem to turn out well for both Rovio and gamers. According to the report, a very early version of the game will soft launch on the App Stores in Australia and Canada later this week. The title isn’t expected to launch worldwide until later in the year. Another game in the massively popular franchise, Angry Birds Stella, is also expected to arrive in 2014.
