Twitterrific updated with iOS 8 compatibility, iPhone 6 support and more
Twitterrific has just been updated for Apple’s latest mobile operating system and smartphones.
The “terrific” third-party Twitter app developed by The Iconfactory has received an update that brings improvements to its compatibility with iOS 8, which was released last week.
In line with this, Twitterrific has also gained support for the extension features of the popular password management app 1Password. This enables you to quickly and easily fill login information into the built-in Web browser of Twitterrific in iOS 8.
The new version of Twitterrific also features support for the larger displays of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus, which were released last Friday.

Moreover, the latest update to the app includes the following improvements and bug fixes:
- Streamlined action sheets when used with a single bookmarking service
- Adjusted and smoothed zooming behavior in the photo viewer
- Streamlined authorization with Twitter
- Pasting jpegs and pngs when composing a tweet no longer triggers an error
- Fixed an issue with untappable links in emails from the in-app browser
- Fixed an issue with the swipe gesture when composing a tweet
- Location services permissions now work properly
- Fixed a number of crashing issues
Note that with this update, Twitterrific no longer supports Twitpic as an image-uploading option. The service’s removal is apparently a result of the announcement from early this month that it would be shut down soon. Twitpic won’t get shuttered after all, as reported last week, but it was taken out of Twitterrific anyway.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Twitterrific is available on the App Store for free, with in-app purchases offered for unlocking additional features.
Last week, Twitter updated its official app for iPhone with redesigned profile pages and support for interactive notifications in iOS 8.
