As announced in October by ShopKeep founder and co-CEO Jason Richelson in the video below, ShopKeep would be integrating with Apple’s mobile payment platform as part of its commitment to user privacy and security.
Now, ShopKeep has made good on that promise with the latest update to its official iPad app, allowing merchants to accept tap-to-pay payments from iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users.

In order to support Apple Pay, ShopKeep has partnered with Ingenico, the maker of the $249 Bluetooth-enabled iCMP card reader. This reader supports various forms of credit card payments, including the traditional magnetic swipe and the NFC protocol used by Apple Pay and other contactless payment services.
The iCMP card reader also supports the EMV (Europay/MasterCard/Visa) standard for chip card payments. But EMV support in the ShopKeep app isn’t available until early next year.
ShopKeep was previously updated early last month with named discounts, stock item tax, printed delivery information, line item voiding, and employee shift reports.
