Rovio has recently slung notable updates into a handful of games in its prevailing and ever expanding Angry Birds franchise, including Angry Birds Space, Angry Birds Go, Angry Birds Friends, Angry Birds Fight, and even the original Angry Birds.

3, 2, 1 …

Aaaaand we have liftoff!

New Horizons, the space probe launched by NASA in January 2006 to study Pluto, is expected to make its first flyby of the dwarf planet on July 14. In celebration of this milestone, Rovio has partnered with NASA to launch a new episode in Angry Birds Space based on none other than our very own solar system.

In the new Solar System episode of the space-themed physics-based puzzle game, you can enjoy flinging birds and popping pigs while visiting planets, satellites, and other heavenly bodies in our little corner of the universe across 15 new levels.

What’s more, the new episode features informative videos from NASA experts and bits of educational trivia about the solar system. There’s also a bomb called S.P.A.R.K., which when activated drops knowledge as well as destruction.

Ready, set, go!

Rovio has also just updated Angry Birds Go, the kart racing game featuring the birds and the pigs.

The new version of Angry Birds Go serves as the game’s special tribute to Ayrton Senna, the famous Brazilian Formula One world champion who was killed in an accident while leading the San Marino Grand Prix in 1994. In it, you can play as Senna by choosing Chuck the yellow bird, who is presented in the likeness of the racing legend and endowed with speed, acceleration, handling, and strength worthy of the real-world driver.

As mentioned, Rovio has also recently released updates to Angry Birds Friends, Angry Birds Fight, and the original Angry Birds.

In the social and competitive Angry Birds Friends, there’s a new tournament this week that you can play with your friends to show your support to the #UpForSchool movement. By participating in the limited-time tournament, you can add your name to the petition for the provision of education, especially to out-of-school youth, around the world.

Angry Birds Fight has been updated with a new global fight ranking and new daily challenges. The multiplayer match-three game, by the way, is the latest entry in the Angry Birds franchise.

As for the Angry Birds game that started it all, its latest version features 15 new levels in the Flock Favorites chapter and new and improved power-ups.

Angry Birds Space for iPhone and Angry Birds Space HD for iPad are available on the App Store for $0.99 and $2.99, respectively. Similarly, the original Angry Birds for iPhone and Angry Birds HD for iPad are respectively priced at $0.99 and $2.99.
