Line messaging app updated with unified search and 3D Touch
Line, the popular messaging app widely considered the prime purveyor of the use of stickers in chats, has just been updated on iOS with several notable improvements.
Unified search
First and foremost, Line now features unified search.
Previously, Line allowed searching of friends only in the Friends tab and of chatrooms and messages only in the Chats tab.
But now, thanks to its latest update, the search bar in either tab now enables you to search for a variety of things including friends, chatrooms, messages, and even items in your Keep collection, QR codes, and settings.
Effectively, this lets you find what you’re looking for more quickly and easily than ever.
The latest update to Line also lets you filter stickers by their creators in the sticker shop.
More enhancements
Line is now also equipped with support for 3D Touch, Apple’s pressure-sensitive multi-touch technology initially available on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. As a result, you can now press down on your compatible iPhone to Peek and Pop in the Chats list of Line.
The app’s new update also adds a new setting to sync your contacts with Line right on the Add Friends screen, rather than having to go deeper into the settings for Add Friends to do so.
Finally, the new version of Line introduces inline previews of links shared in chats. Instead of a plain URL only, a shared link is now accompanied by a lead image and a line of description.
Line is free to download from the App Store. It’s optimized for iPhone and iPod touch.
Line also works with Apple Watch to enable you to check messages and reply with stickers right from your wrist.

Speaking of stickers, you’re free to use Line’s signature stickers in other apps, including rival messaging apps like Viber and WhatsApp, through Emoji Keyboard by Line.
