Jailbreak Tweaks
Articles that help jailbreakers tweak the Apple OS to do something that Apple didn't intend, but may be useful. New Way to multi-task, more icons in dock, tethering, etc
The second week of "TweakWeek" has now come to a close, with a total of seven jailbreak tweaks having been developed and released by Filippo Bigarella each and every day of the past week (June 8-14). In this article, we're giving a recap of everything Bigarella developed and released during week two of TweakWeek.
PocketMode is a recently released jailbreak tweak, which can make your iPhone handset ring louder when it's in your pocket. Currently, the tweak can be downloaded in the Cydia Store for $1.49.
Since the launch of iOS 5 (beta 1), jailbreak developers have been working hard developing widgets for Notification Center. Recently, a new widget appeared in Cydia that allows users to view "system stats" in Notification Center, and it's called SystemPrefs.
If you're continually ending calls accidentally on your jailbroken iPhone, consider purchasing Dialer Shield. This $1.49 jailbreak tweak adds two locks to the call screen - sliding one right ends the call, and sliding the other left activates the touch screen.
SwishUnlock is a recently released jailbreak tweak, which makes unlocking an iPhone a little more complex. Once installed, users will have to slide right and then left again, in order to unlock their iPhone. Currently, the package is available to download for free.
Hot on the heels of UISettings is an upcoming, impressive jailbreak-only Notification Center widget: MusicCenter. With this handy widget, users will be able see what track is playing in Notification Center.
Once jailbreak developers got their hands on the first beta version of iOS 5, the development of tweaks and applications for the upcoming software update began. One in particular - UISettings - got many of us excited, simply because it looked like "SBSettings in the Notification Center."
While Apple appears to have eliminated gestures in iOS 5 on the first generation iPad, a new method allows users to re-activate the feature - providing they have jailbroken their tablet.
While Apple’s WWDC keynote presentation outlined a feature packed iOS 5, not every feature added in the new mobile operating system is technically “new.” A new video outlines exactly how many iOS 5 features can already be added to your jailbroken iPhone, via Cydia.
Today's "TweakWeek" tweak (which is brought to you by Ryan Petrich) is SliderBar, a tweak that brings "quick scrolling" to applications that sport a table view.
Yesterday, Apple gave us a preview of iOS 5 during its WWDC keynote presentation, and I have to say - it looks good. The company has added over 200 new features for users, such as an improved notification system, a Reminders app and an improved Camera app. However, some of the features Apple demonstrated may have seemed a little familiar to jailbreak fans.
RunningIndicator is a brand new jailbreak tweak, developed as part of TweakWeek, which adds a "glow" to the icons of applications which are running in the background.
It's day number four of TweakWeek, and Ryan Petrich (@rpetrich) has developed and released Read Later Action. This simple-but-handy tweak allows users to quickly and easily send items to Instapaper via Action Menu.
Call Delete is a new jailbreak tweak, which allows users to clear individual calls from the Phone app's records. Currently, the package is available to download via the BigBoss Repository for $1.29.
Earlier today, we told you about SplitMail - a simple but effective jailbreak tweak, developed by Ryan Petrich as part of "TweakWeek." However, this free, open-source jailbreak tweak was tweak number three. Now, we're going to tell you about Petrich's first two TweakWeek tweaks: DietBar and PagePusher.
SplitMail is a recently developed jailbreak tweak, which allows iPad owners to view and preview mail in two columns within the Mail app, when in portrait mode.
The fifth beta version of MobileNotifier is now available to download. The updated version (0.5.0-120) adds "MobileReply" - a means of quickly replying to certain notifications, such as SMS messages - along with a redesigned interface when fast-app-switching.
An iPad (Wi-Fi +3G) has apparently been hacked to make phone calls and SMS messages. While we’re not sure about the legitimacy of this claim, a relatively low-quality YouTube video demonstrates the hack in action, and it appears to work.
