The Twitter Apple Watch App Disappears After Latest Update

That iThingy You're Wearing
September 27, 2017

After a recent update, the Twitter Apple Watch app has disappeared with no explanation from the company when or if it will return.

In the release notes for version 7.8, that landed yesterday, Twitter mentions that it fixes an issue that was causing problems when trying to upload high-resolution photos.

But there was no mention of the removal of the Apple Watch app. It was first reported by MacRumors.

After the arrival of watchOS 4, which landed last week, some users were apparently encountering issues with the watch app.

So it’s unknown if Twitter has just pulled the app until the issues are fixed or whether the removal is more permanent.

In the meantime, two other third-party Twitter clients – Tweetbot and Twitterific – do offer Apple Watch support.
