Apple Further Teases Remote App's iOS 7 Redesign With App Store Promotional Banner

November 1, 2013
Apple is at it again. And by "it" I mean teasing the imminent iOS 7 redesign of Remote, the company's free iOS app for controlling iTunes and Apple TV. Just a week ago, Apple first teased the upcoming update with the appearance of a new iOS 7-inspired Remote app icon in the latest version of iTunes. Now, it appears to have again prematurely shown the app's redesigned icon, thereby hinting that the update is just around the corner. This time, as reported by MacRumors, the redesigned icon of Remote made an appearance in a promotional banner in the Colombian App Store. The banner shows the new icon looking right at home on iOS 7. In fact the banner is labeled "Designed for iOS 7." Remote is one of the Apple-made iOS apps that are yet to be updated and redesigned for iOS 7, the others being iBooks, Find My Friends, iTunes U, and Keynote Remote. Apple has already given the iOS 7 treatment to Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, Podcasts, iTunes Movie Trailers, and Find My iPhone. Currently, Remote is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. The app received its last update in January of this year, thereby gaining improvements for search results, rating songs, sorting podcasts, and general stability. Prior to that update, it was updated in September of last year with support for iOS 6 and in the following November with a new design and other enhancements.
