Ubisoft Updates Assassin's Creed Pirates To Add New Area, Mission And Daily Challenges

May 16, 2014

Ubisoft has sent out its third major update for Assassin’s Creed Pirates, the swashbuckling iOS adventure game which first launched back in December. You can download the recently updated Assassin’s Creed Pirates for $4.99 on the App Store, and it’s optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Four main changes have been made to Assassin’s Creed Pirates in its recent update, and the first of these is the addition of “Today’s Challenges.” Now, iOS gamers can access and complete three new challenges each and every day in Assassin’s Creed Pirates, and completed challenges are rewarded with “a huge pack of coins,” according to Ubisoft.

Also new in the updated app is an additional area. Ubisoft explains: “La boca del diablo, far from the main commercial routes, this mysterious island is swarming with dark legends and tales of recent horrors.” Plus, an additional story mission has made an appearance in the app, and this is designed to introduce players to the recently added La boca del diablo area.

Finally, new side missions, hooks, fishes, treasures, and diaries have all been added to Assassin’s Creed Pirates. To recap, here’s a complete list of the update’s changes, as outlined in the app’s release notes:

  • New feature: Today’s Challenges, each day you will have the opportunity to complete 3 different challenges. Each completed challenge will be rewarded with a huge pack of coins!
  • New Node: La boca del diablo, far from the main commercial routes, this mysterious island is swarming with dark legends and tales of recent horrors.
    • New Story Mission: Alonzo follows La Buse’s riddle to a mysterious island. Who the hell named it the Devil’s Mouth? And why?
    • New side missions, new hooks, new fishes to catch, new treasures & new diaries to find
  • Game stability improved

After launching on the App Store, we highlighted Assassin’s Creed Pirates in our daily “Today’s Best Apps” column before announcing it as our AppAdvice Game of the Week for Dec. 13, 2013. In January and March, the app received two significant updates: one adding a new area to the app, and another bringing a fun whale hunting mode to the game (along with new unlockable ships and characters).

As mentioned, the recently updated Assassin’s Creed Pirates can be downloaded for $4.99 on the App Store, and it’s optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
