T-Mobile To Offer iPhone, iPad Customers $100 Rebate As Part Of Back-To-School Promotion

July 8, 2014

T-Mobile is reportedly planning on launching a new “Back to School” promotion that would see a $100 rebate offered to customers who purchase an iPhone and an iPad from the carrier during the summer months.

The news, which comes from TMONews, is described as the “first of many back to school offers” from the so-called “uncarrier,” and it’ll be available to customers “on Simple Choice postpaid plans who are activating new lines of service, or upgrading.”

T-Mobile’s deal is set to come into effect tomorrow, July 8, and it’ll run through Sept. 2, 2014. Offer details are highlighted by TMONews, too:

  • This offer is available to customers on Simple Choice postpaid plans who are activating new lines of service, or upgrading.
  • The Apple iPhone and iPad must be purchased on the same day to qualify.
  • Customers must complete offer redemption online at t-mobile.com/promotions.
  • Offer expires September 2, 2014.

We might add that the rebate will reportedly consist of a $100 prepaid MasterCard.

The move parallels Apple’s own Back to School promotion, which launched last week and offers students purchasing either a new iPhone, iPad, or Mac an Apple Store Gift Card worth $50 or $100. Customers can also score an additional discount through purchasing from the Apple Store for Education.

More news concerning T-Mobile’s deal (plus an official announcement from the carrier) is expected to surface online soon, however. We’ll keep you updated with further information as we receive it.

In related news, T-Mobile brought its prepaid iPhones to Apple Retail Stores last month, and the uncarrier is also allowing customers to “test drive” Apple’s iPhone 5s for a limited time.

More recently, iOS 8 beta 3 (which launched for iOS developers yesterday) activates Wi-Fi calling for T-Mobile subscribers. Previously, the carrier confirmed its full support for the feature, with Canadian network Rogers Wireless doing the same soon after.
