Late last night Apple released the final Gold Master version of iOS 4.2 to developers. We've already shown you all the new features, and right now you probably want to try it yourself. Well, you can.
Good news folks, Apple just released the pre-final version of iOS 4.2 to members of the Apple developer program. iOS 4.2 Gold Master, or GM as it's called should be the exact version that Apple will be shipping very soon (hopefully) to the public. That is, unless any major bugs are found in this version.
The idea of being able to consume written content faster is a very attractive one. There are plenty of services that try to scale down online articles to just their essential ideas like tldr.it. Also, there are aggregators and, of course, there is Twitter. EyeWeb, an upcoming iPhone app that should see the light sometime this week takes on the problem from the other side. It's designed to make you read faster.
Boom! Today, another thousand new apps arrived in the App Store. Let me break it to you, most of them are really bad. Yet, there are a few somewhat interesting ones. Here they are...

This week, Apple once again delayed (more like cancelled) the white iPhone 4 that so many of you were waiting for. The great comedians at jLe Productions created another unofficial, BS-free Apple commercial to tell us what is really going on.

What better Halloween costume than the pop icon that is the iPhone? If you're already picturing yourself wearing two big pieces of cardboard attached by some wire this weekend, you better not be partying around Tampa. Indeed, John Savio, the living iPhone man from Florida is back at it again, this year with a brand new working iPhone 4 costume.
That's all folks. Apple has finally pulled all signs of the white iPhone 4 from its website. Apple recently announced that the phone will be delayed until spring. However, knowing that Apple releases iPhones on a yearly basis, it's pretty clear that the white iPhone 4 will never see the light of day.

Apple is very clear as to how a developer can use its push notification service. It's there to add functionality, and that's it. No spam, no ads, no messing around. It seems that the folks from Glee, or actually Smule, as they are the ones who developeed Glee's top-ranking paid Karaoke app, couldn't contain themselves.
Next Tuesday, at Apple's invitation, a hand-picked group of fine iOS developers will be heading to California. Scheduled to attend a secret three day summit, these lucky few will be working directly with Apple's engineers on some iOS developments. At least, that's what Business Insider's Dan Frommer is telling us today.
Finding a specific app on the iOS App Store is a drag. Between launching the App Store, jumping into search, typing your query, waiting for results, looking through them and selecting the right one, it takes way too much time. We've seen Google attempt to make a faster iOS App Store search of their own in the past; using their powerful algorithms and integrating them right into Google itself. Some clues appeared in their app earlier this year. Now, they are bringing this to their web mobile search as well.

The plot surrounding the arrival of the iPhone on Verizon is thickening. The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times both claim it will be arriving in early 2011. Now, it's CNET's turn to add some grist to the mill.

We've told you all about apps that allow you to view natively unsupported video content on your iDevice. These arrived on the iPad a little while ago, and they are now making their way to our 3.5 inch iDevices.
