Mike was born in Poland but moved to California at age 9. Mike has graduated from Chico State with a degree in journalism in spring '10 and lives in Cupertino (Apple headquarters) currently. He hopes to continue writing about games and technology and loves his iPad. He got it as a graduation gift along with an iPhone 4 but the iPad is Mike's real device of choice. Mike also owns an iMac (that has bootcamp and OS X), a Windows laptop, a Wii, and a Dreamcast. Mike also has a passion in film and enjoys training mixed martial arts. Warm Gun is set in the wild wild west, but also mixes in some sci-fi-based elements and special effects from another era. The art style is also very steampunk-like. Look for it sometime this month.
A new website and teaser have been created for the upcoming iOS horror FPS game, The Dark Meadow. The game is powered by the Unreal Engine and will offer stunning graphics. Look for the release sometime this month.
Gameloft has been doing quite well as of late. In fact, the iOS gaming company's app sales have gone up by 15 percent during the first half of 2011 and they don't look like they will be slowing down anytime soon.
A follow-up to Foursaken Media's Bug Heroes is now available as a universal app. Bug Heroes Quest is a story-based adventure rather than just a arcade-style action game.
Halfbrick Studios has released a new trailer showing some of the gameplay of their upcoming endless runner called, Machine Gun Jetpack. The game should be available sometime this August.
A new retro-inspired RPG has hit the iPhone called, Guardian Saga. The game offers turn-based battles from a first person perspective along with 8-bit style visuals.
Final Fantasy Tactics will be released on iOS in just a few days. The game has been unveiled to cost £10.99, which should be around $15.99. Final Fantasy tactics was originally released on the original Playstation and later ported to the Playstation Portable. This version is based on the PSP released with other enhancements added as well.
Ubisoft has decided to bring some of their biggest games to tablets like the iPad. Among the future releases, Assasin's Creed has already been promised. Whether Ubisoft will develop these releases internally or outsource them to Gameloft remains to be seen.
Split Milk Studios is planning to update its arcade title, Hard Lines, in the near future. The update will add Game Center achievements and iPad support. No word on any other features being added yet.
A new physics puzzler is heading for iOS on August 4. It is called Kickin' Momma and is being released by Hothead game studios. The title will launch as a universal app and features a momma kicking her offspring.
An update is being released, in about two weeks, for Crescent Moon's dual-stick shooter Deadlock: Online. It will feature new environments and other gameplay additions.
Sega's answer to Mario Kart has dropped in price. Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is currently available for only $1.99 from its standard $4.99 price tag. This is the perfect time to pick up this kart racing title with online multiplayer.

Mozilla has teamed up with Gecko in the hope of creating an open source OS for tablets and smartphones. The OS will be called Boot to Gecko (B2G). Mozilla is also betting on the Web environment over proprietary software and app development.

Fenix Fire is unleashing its platformer, called Roboto, onto the App Store tonight. The game features 30 levels, various mini-games and epic boss battles. It also features 3D backgrounds and gravity-defying gameplay.
Track your movements and look around corners of your game when playing the latest update of Two Worlds II Castle Defense HD on iPad 2. Now you can use your iPad 2's camera in the game to track the movements of your head and add a virtual reality element to the gameplay. The update brings the title to version 1.2.
