Bible Mnemonics is a compilation of more than 20 years of work by Dr. S Y Govender, to enable students of the Word, to memorize scriptures. The word mnemonic is derived from an Ancient Greek word which means "memory". A Bible Mnemonic is the art of memorizing the Word of God. It is a learning technique that enables the student to bring scriptures to remembrance.

Memorizing scripture is an integral part of spiritual discipline. David memorised the Word.

Psalm 36:6 When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches

Ps 119:15-16 I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

Meditation means to memorise scripture by studying; pondering; praying and declaring the Word. Memorizing the Word of God will bring great success and prosperity to your life.

Josh 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Ps 1:1-3 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

Jesus commanded us to memorize His Word:

John 15:6 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

Paul encouraged us to memorize His Word:

2 Tim 2:15 15 Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. (AMP)
