Viber messaging app now optimized for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
Viber, the popular messaging app acquired by Rakuten almost a year ago, has finally been optimized for the latest generation of Apple’s smartphones.
Last month, a few of Viber’s foremost competitors were updated for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, including KakaoTalk, Line, and BBM.
Now, at long last, it’s Viber’s turn to gain full resolution support for the aforementioned devices.
But its native resolution on iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus is not the only thing that’s bigger, so to speak, in the new version of Viber. The updated app also boasts an expanded selection of emoji, bringing the total from 85 to 213 characters, including redesigned versions of old ones.
The latest update to Viber also includes some bug fixes.

The new version of Viber is available now on the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later.
Viber was updated in mid-November with optimizations for iOS 8 including support for interactive notifications and a share extension.
Other recent enhancements of note to the app include support for video calling, a new Public Chats feature, and integration with mobile games.
