Jailbreak Tweaks
Articles that help jailbreakers tweak the Apple OS to do something that Apple didn't intend, but may be useful. New Way to multi-task, more icons in dock, tethering, etc
After being out-of-action for several months now, the popular jailbreak tweak "MobileTerminal" has recently received an update, and is now compatible with iOS 5-powered jailbroken iDevices.
A few days ago, we told you about Music Widget: a jailbreak tweak that can add a Dashboard X widget to users' Home screen, via which it's possible to interact with both the Music app and third-party applications (such as Spotify). Now, we've heard about another Music app-widget called Jukebox, which looks particularly impressive.
If your iPhone is often afflicted with weak signal from time to time, consider downloading SignalRefresh - a jailbreak tweak that promises to boost cellular signal, according to Redmond Pie.
A couple of days ago, we told you about Music Widget: an upcoming jailbreak tweak that adds a Music app widget for users' already rocking Dashboard X. Now, users can download the tweak - "Music Widget (for Dashboard X)" - and enjoy viewing and adjusting playing music from the widget's attractive interface.
Music Widget is an upcoming jailbreak tweak that allows users to interact with their Music app through an attractive Dashboard X widget, which can be positioned on the Home screen. Though the tweak isn't available yet, iDownloadBlog has posted a preview video - and from what we can tell, Music Widget looks to be a great addition to users' Dashboard X-powered Home screens.
Just over a week ago, a great iOS concept hit the Web: fold-to-unlock, created by @AntonKudin, showed how an "unfolding" animation would lend itself perfectly to Apple's slide-to-unlock mechanism in the iOS. At the time, while calling for Apple to implement the feature in iOS 6 (a somewhat unrealistic proposition, one might add), I also speculated that the concept was exactly the kind of thing a savvy jailbreak developer would adopt, develop and release. And I was right.
The popular jailbreak tweak Zephyr, which we told you about back in December, has recently received a great update. Now, fans of the tweak can enjoy switching between iOS apps in landscape mode, and can also peek at Notification Center without fully activating it.
Siri might not always be able to recognise my British accent, but that's not the biggest problem international iPhone users face with Apple's "humble personal assistant." Because Siri is still technically "in beta," folks living outside of the U.S. still can't search for local businesses using the iPhone 4S's flagship feature. However, one new jailbreak tweak can help international iPhone users out in this department, according to iDownloadBlog.
A new jailbreak tweak called HomeSpringPage allows jailbreakers to create a new Home screen page, which is reserved specifically for Dashboard X widgets.
There have been battery life Notification Center widgets in the past, some of which looked rather good - such as the simplistic BatteryCenter, or the rather complex PowerCenter Pro. Now, one new jailbreak tweak combines the appealing appearance of the former with the detailed information provided by the latter: it's called BatteryInfo for Notification Center, and the tweak is currently available in the Cydia Store for $0.99.
Already, we've seen jailbreak tweaks that disable the iPhone's passcode-lock when the handset is connected to a "home" network (see, for example, Filippo Bigarella’s CleverPin). However, a new tweak which offers similar functionality works quite well, and is worth a mention (plus, it's available for free).
A couple of days ago, we told you about Dashboard X - an upcoming jailbreak tweak that allows users to add widgets to their iOS device's Home screen. Now, the package is finally available to download in the Cydia Store, where it can be purchased (via the ModMyi repository) for $1.99.
A jailbreak tweak called Giffy can make your iPhone’s Photos app compatible with GIFs, allowing users to view animated images on their handset from within the native application.
